CUSTOMER IN FOCUS - CHRIS WHITTINGTON

Once a month we will be featuring one of our customers in an email about their health and fitness journey and life in general. This month we are featuring Chris Whittington (photo in the PERFORMANCE COMPRESSION SHORTS & PERFORMANCE TEE).

Chris discovered running after retiring from various sports to help with his health and fitness and has fell in love with it. Chris is constant support to the Maw Brothers and his achieved some big goals this year, read how health and fitness is a big part of Chris's life:

Where are you from?

 Adelaide, Australia

What got you started on your health and fitness journey?

Always been involved in sports. From playing football, cricket & mixed netball. Since retiring from all that, started to show signs of fatigue and weight gain so took up running in an effort to balance everything from the weight and my mental health.

What motivates you to keep going?

To see what comes the next day and try to be better than the day before. Take each day like a Parkrun. I might not run a PB each week, but getting out there is a win.

What are you daily habits that allow you to exercise and stay on track?

Good 7-8 hours sleep each night.

Plus working so close to home allows me to get out for a run in the morning before work or not long after finishing the day.

What are your health and fitness goals for 2020?

I hope to run another HM along with entering more shorter course events (10-15km) Checking out more Parkrun courses.

What is your favourite fitness event you have undertaken?

Wings For Life world run Adelaide the past 2 years with fellow MAW brother Stu.

What do you think if the Maw Active gear?

Love it! The most comfortable workout gear I own. Has become my go to. Have recently purchased more to make up the complete range.

What adversity have you had to overcome to get to where you are?

Retiring from football with Achilles tendonitis and calf troubles in both legs made me think I couldn’t push my body to run on many surfaces. My first run almost 2 years ago hurt but I set target goals that I still rely on now when it gets tough.

What has been your greatest achievement to date?

Fitness wise. Running my first ever HM this year. In life. Meeting my partner Sarah and falling for her almost 6 years ago.

Thank you Chris, we can't wait to see you run another HM this year and continue your amazing journey. Thank you for always supporting your brothers.

We can't wait to bring you next Month's customer in focus.
